What is it like to be architect?
An architect is a skilled professional who plans and designs buildings and generally plays a key role in their construction. Architects are highly trained in the art and science of building design. Since they bear responsibility for the safety of their buildings’ occupants, architects must be professionally licensed.
What do architects do?
Architects design buildings, but their job description involves responsibility for much more than just the artistic elements of design, they also run small businesses and manage teams of employees, help to market their firms and secure new business, communicate effectively with clients to create buildings that satisfy the clients’ needs, budget, coordinate, and oversee projects, translate their ideas into schematic design drawings and documents, incorporate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, etc., incorporate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other details into the designs, satisfy building code and zoning regulations, secure project approval and permits from regulatory authorities, prepare construction documents with detailed structural and material information and much more.
What do architects do on a typical day?
Beginning architects research zoning, building codes, and legal filings, draft plans from others’ designs, and build models at the side of a more experienced architect. The accomplished architect doesn’t spend as much time as he would like designing, either; he spends it on the phone, in meetings, and consulting closely with his clients. Of the people we surveyed, each was surprised by the amount of time they had to spend “selling” or “explaining” their ideas. The most financially successful architects seemed to be the ones best at communicating their unique vision.
Where do architects work?
Most architecture firms employ five or fewer people, and the work firms do is mostly commercial or pre-planned residential housing with strict budget and practical limitations.
How can I become architect?
A prospective architect must complete an academic degree specifically focused on architecture. This can be a five-year Bachelor of Architecture program, an affiliated two-year Master of Architecture program, or, for those whose undergraduate degrees were in a field unassociated with architecture, a three- to four-year Master of Architecture program (one architect we surveyed received a bachelor’s degree in Animal Behavior). Aspiring architects must also have an accredited sponsor. Last, each candidate must pass all sections of the Architect Registration Exam (ARE), a rigorous multipart test.
How much money do architects make?
In the first two years, prospective architects work as interns or research assistants to established architects, with salaries in the low $20,000 range. The salary expands with the years and experience they have in the field.
What kinds of additional training do architects need?
Greater emphasis is now placed by employers on those applicants who have mastered computer assisted design (CAD) programs, which promise to become required knowledge for any architect as technology continues to develop.
What are the dangers of being architect?
Becoming an architect is a long process; spending years as a draftsman or researcher leads those without patience to grow frustrated and dissatisfied with their choice of career. Even after the grueling “weeding out” period, surviving as a working architect is difficult.
What are the chances that architects will be replaced by robots soon?
There is a small chance that robots will replace architects but in the future, architects must be willing to relocate for periods of time to find work, must become involved in electronic communications where design and theory meet, and will work under less generous conditions than currently enjoyed by the profession.
What age do architects retire at?
As long as the architect is capable of designing buildings or has his own firm, he can choose to retire when they are ready to leave the field.

Architecture is a field of study that requires talent, practical, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and most of all, patience. Being an architect may seem difficult in the beginning, but by persevering and not giving up, they can go really far in architecture.

3 Websites Everyone in ARCHITECTURE Should Know About.
In the current world, everywhere we go, there are buildings! Those establishments are designed, planned and built by architects. You can find different kinds of structures and designs depending on your town and/or country. Architecture can be perceived as art because of its design and uniqueness, it can also be seen as a symbol depending on the place you live in, take for example the cathedral of Notre Dame in France which is an important establishment due to its religious significance. In this listicle, we will see three useful websites that will not only help you know more about the different kinds of buildings and designs but also instructional information for upcoming architect like you!
1. Gluck+.
Gluck+, formerly known as Peter Gluck and partners architects, which explains the symbol of addition next to the founder’s name, is an architecture, construction and development firm known for Architect Led Design Build (ALDB). This website is diverse and well-known worldwide thought design awards and publications. You can find instructional videos and post on their design process. They also include images of multiple types of establishment in different environment to give inspiration to the former architect or even just a fan of beautiful buildings. By searching for a type of establishment, the website will provide you with a detailed description of the place(address, dimension, interior design, etc.), images from different angles and a video showing you the building from the inside, as if you were touring it in person. It is simple to use since it gives you multiples choices of design for diverse establishment, such as houses, school, college and university buildings, recreation centers, historic restorations, you name it!
2. Olson Kundig.
Olson Kundig is a collaborative global design practice whose work expands the context of built and natural landscapes. The firm is led by five owners; Jim Olson, Tom Kundig, Kirsten R. Murray, Alan Maskin, and Kevin Kudo-King. Unlike the first website, Olson Kundig is a sensitive interpretation between materials and people. It gives the visitor an impression of familiarity with the building's environment by giving high definition images of each establishment. The design of the website helps the visitor to find easily what they are looking for by giving different choices of designs, cities, countries and much more. Olson is esthetically pleasing to see, which helps visitors and architects search what they are looking for at ease. In each building shown, there’s a description of the architecture and environment surrounding it and similar establishments to help you get further information in your research.
3. Architizer.
Architizer is one of the largest platforms for digital architecture, it helps new architects set foot into the architectural world. This website resembles job searches websites but specializes in architecture to help architect communicate with each other and get high ranked jobs in their field. With Architizer, architects can upload their work in order to get professional feedback from other artists. It can also help them get potential clients and expand their creations. All the architects get a chance to discover new architectural elements such as new materials, tools and much more. This site includes a helpful virtual assistance to answer general questions so that all the visitors can find it easier to access the website. Architizer can also offer articles of new architects about general design process and images of the design that they created for their clients so that they could attract other individuals that would be interested in similar designs.

Interior Design
Interior design is the art or practice of planning and supervising the design and execution of architectural interiors and their furnishings, it helps to improve the look of different interior establishment such as an office, kitchen, salon and much more. A glossary is an alphabetical list of technical words, terms or abbreviations and their definitions, usually related to a specific discipline or field of knowledge. Glossaries can be useful for helping people identify and acquire the vocabulary of the discipline they're looking for. In these next lines I'll be explaining twenty words in relation with my field of study.
